Length:
100 minutes

Director:
Konrad Petzold

In the mid-1830s the last Indians of the Southeast who had retreated to the Florida peninsula are supposed to be deported to Indian reservations in Oklahoma. Raynes, a big plantation owner, not only wants to take possession of the Seminoles' land but also the black slaves that found refuge with the Indians. The Seminoles persistently resist deportation. They want to live peacefully alongside the whites.

In order to avoid bloodshedding chief Osceola warns his tribe not to react to any provocations. However, when Rayes abducts Osceola's wife war becomes unavoidable. The Indians have to retreat deeply into the peninsula. Determined to defend the freedom of his people Osceola leads his warriors into the battle.
